Adding void reasons

A void reason is an explanation applied to a canceled order or item. This helps ensure that orders or order items on the POS are only canceled for reasons you deem relevant from the Back Office. Add void reasons to the Back Office that you wish to be selected on the POS, such as 'damage or spillage.'

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed Restaurant account credentials.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Configuration > Settings > Void reasons.
  3. Enter the name of the void reason in the input field.
  4. Select Add void reason next to the input field, to add the void reason to your Back Office.

Setting name Description
Void reason Name of a void reason that is displayed on the POS and on the report.
Active since The date the void reason was added to the Back Office.
Create negative stock movement

The stocks are defined in Configuration > Settings > Stock. This is set to No by default. It can be changed to Yes by clicking on the No button.

  • No: The item is not deducted from the inventory when the void reason is selected on the POS.
  • Yes: The item is deducted from the inventory when the void reason is selected on the POS.
Print a receipt

This is set to No by default. It can be changed to Yes by clicking on the No button.

  • No: The void reason is not printed.
  • Yes: The void reason is printed for internal use.

Removes the void reason from the Back Office. See Removing void reasons.
