Hi. How can we help?

Printing checks or split checks

When your guests are ready to pay, you can print their draft receipts so they know how much they owe in payment.

Printing checks in Direct sale mode

While in Direct sale mode, users generally process orders at payment; so a table or order name with seating or coursing are not associated with the order. Rather, POS users take an order and process the payment at the same time. Because Direct sale mode supports a pay-at-order workflow (most commonly used at cafés, bars, food trucks, and other quick-service restaurants), splitting a check is not possible while in this order setting. Splitting checks is only supported while in Table service mode.

To print a check while in Direct sale mode, you can add order items to an order and then proceed to the Payment screen. Usually, receipts are printed after processing the payment. If you wish to print a check before the payment has been processed, simply tap the Print receipt button on the Payment screen.

Printing checks in Table service mode

While in Table service mode, it's a common workflow for POS users to print a draft receipt for customers when they are ready to pay for their orders. This is a common flow because Table service mode supports seating and coursing, so customers usually don't pay while they're ordering, but after their meals.

To print a draft receipt while in Table service mode, you can add order items to an order and then proceed to the Payment screen.  From the Payment screen, tap the Print receipt button to print the draft receipts.

Of course, if you're in Table service mode and serving a group of customers, you most likely will want to split their checks. For more information on how to split draft receipts for your customers, see Splitting a check.

Printing split checks

If you've already split your checks, you can print these as separate draft receipts for your customers. From the Split check screen, you can print individual checks or print all the checks you've divided. Select the Print icon at the bottom of an individual check, or select the Print icon on the bottom right of the screen to print all checks.

Please note that it's only possible to split a check while in Table service mode. For more information on how to split draft receipts for your customers, see Splitting a check.
