Hi. How can we help?

About POS reports

POS reports can be viewed or printed from the Lightspeed Restaurant app and give an overview of the performance of your business and employees. These reports show sales and payments, the number of receipts, voids, and so much more. POS reports can be accessed for the current day, a specific day, by sales period, or by an employee. The most frequent use of POS reports is for settling your day or shift.

Visit the following links to learn more about each available report.

Period report

The Period report covers the time period from when you started the business day up until you print or view the report. This report shows the totals of each payment method collected from sales, tax related to the sales, and a breakdown by accounting group. To adjust the business day hours, please contact our Support team.

Shift report

The Shift report breaks down sales and business figures by sales period but without the tax and accounting group section known from the Period and Fiscal report.

You find any Shift report for a completed sales period in your Lightspeed Back Office.

User report

The User report shows the sales and related figures for a specific user, including the number of receipts processed, total payments received, and processed and declared tips. Users usually view this report to help settle their shift. Multiple user shifts (one for each active user) can be part of a reporting shift.

You find any User report for a completed user shift in your Lightspeed Back Office.

Drawer report

The Drawer report is tied to a sales period. It shows the cash drawer amount entered at the start of the sales period, payments taken during the shift, cash amount expected to be in the drawer, and the actual cash drawer amount entered when the sales period is closed.

You find any Drawer report for a completed sales period in your Lightspeed Back Office.

Fiscal report

The Fiscal report contains the same information as the Period report but covers the whole business day and is only created after closing the business day. The period of a business day starts at 5:30 AM and runs to 5:29 AM the next day by default. To adjust the business day hours, please contact our Support team.
