Hi. How can we help?

Importing and exporting price lists

If you already have existing price data in a CSV file, you can bulk add prices by importing the file to the Back Office. Export price data from the Back Office into a CSV file for use outside the Back Office.

Importing price lists

Add bulk prices to one or more price lists by importing a CSV file into the Back Office. The file should only include item SKUs and prices. Each price column of the imported file reflects a price list. See Formatting your price lists import file for details.

When the first row of the CSV file contains column identifiers, you don’t need to add each price list to the Edit price lists page (see steps 3–5 below).

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed Restaurant credentials.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Menu Management > Price lists.
  3. Click Edit prices next to the price list where you want to import price data.
  4. (Optional) Click +Edit another price list and choose a price list from the drop-down menu.
  5. (Optional) Repeat step 4 to add additional price lists to the table.
  6. Click Import price list(s)....
  7. Click Select file to add the appropriate CSV file from your computer.
  8. (Optional) Disable The first row contains headers if that doesn’t apply to the CSV file. The price list selected in steps 3–5 will be used for the import.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Wait for a green confirmation banner to appear, indicating the price list was successfully imported.

Formatting your price lists import file

  1. The import file must be in CSV format.
  2. The import file must only include the SKU and price for each item.
  3. The first row should contain column identifiers (SKU, name of the price list).
  4. The import file is limited to 1,000 rows. If you have more than 1,000 items and prices to import, create separate imports for each data set of 1,000 items.

In this example, the first row includes the column names: SKU and name of the price list.

SKU Happy Hour
58 8.00
59 9.00
65 10.00

Exporting price lists

Export existing price data from the Back Office into a CSV file for use outside the Back Office. The price list data is converted to a CSV file and automatically saved to your computer.

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed Restaurant credentials.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Menu Management > Price lists.
  3. Click Edit prices next to the price list you want to export.
  4. Click Export selected price list(s).

What's next?

Deactivate price lists so those prices no longer appear on the POS.
