These instructions only apply to the new Lightspeed gift card version. If you are using the old gift card version and want to switch, follow the instructions in our Setting up gift cards 2.0 article.
Online gift card sales are not available for Lightspeed Restaurant accounts based in Germany.
If you are using Lightspeed Payments, you can sell gift cards online by enabling and configuring the gift card web store in Back Office. You can sell two types of gift cards online: custom amount and fixed-value.
Once you've finished setting up your online gift cards, share the web store's dedicated URL with your customers. After a customer purchases a gift card, they will receive an email with a QR code they can redeem in-store at the POS.

Enabling the gift card web store
Enable online gift cards from the Back Office. If you have multiple locations, each location will need to be enabled individually.
- Log in to the Back Office using your Lightspeed Restaurant credentials.
- From the navigation menu, select Customers > Settings.

Click Enable online gift cards.
- Set your Maximum balance. This is the maximum amount a single gift card can be worth.
- (Optional) Enter your business's Trade name. This is the name displayed to customers and defaults to the name entered as your Business name when you set up your account.

(Optional) Upload an image to display in your gift card web store.
- Check Custom amount gift card, Fixed-value gift cards, or both.
- Custom amount gift card: Customers can enter a custom amount for the gift card. This amount cannot exceed the maximum balance set in your Back Office.

Fixed-value gift cards: The gift card is set at an amount that can't be edited by your customers. Enter a fixed amount for each type of gift card. This amount cannot exceed the maximum balance. If you want to create multiple fixed-value gift cards, click + Add another amount. You can create as many fixed-value gift cards as you need.
- Click Save.
Sharing the web store with your customers
Once you’ve enabled and configured your web store, click the Web store link to review it. Copy and paste this link to your social media accounts or your restaurant’s website so your customers can access your web store.
