Accessing and printing POS reports

In this article, we explain how to access the reports section in the Restaurant POS app and print reports for your records.

The steps for accessing and printing POS reports will vary depending on which version of the POS you have enabled on your device.

  • Accessing and printing POS reports with the new navigation

    The new navigation can be enabled in your Back Office and is already enabled for customers who signed up for Lightspeed after May 2026.

    1. In the Restaurant POS app, tap Settings to open the Settings menu.
    2. Select Reports.
    3. Filter for Open or Closed reports.
      • Open: Shows all active fiscal, period, shift, and user reports for the current business day.
      • Closed: Shows all already closed reports for fiscal, periods, shifts, or user shifts from the current business day.
    4. Choose the report to access. It will appear on the right side.

      You can only view or print reports you have permission to access. The on-screen and printed report structures are also different.

    5. Tap Print full report to print the report to the printer assigned to the POS device in the Back Office. Or tap Preview full report to view it.

  • Accessing and printing POS reports with the legacy navigation

    The legacy navigation for the Lightspeed Restaurant POS is the default navigation for customers who signed up for Lightspeed Restaurant before May 2026.

    1. Tap Settings in the Restaurant POS app.
    2. Select Reports from the menu.
    3. Filter for Open, Closed, or Previous reports.
      • Open: Shows all active fiscal, period, shift, and user reports for the current business day.
      • Closed: Shows all already closed reports for fiscal, periods, shifts, or user shifts from the current business day.
      • Previous: Shows all closed reports for fiscal, periods, shifts, or user shifts that are older than the current business day.
    4. Choose the report to access. It will appear on the right side. Please note that you can only view or print reports for which you have permission and that the screen displayed and printed report structures are different.
    5. Tap Print report to print the report to the printer assigned to the POS device in the Back Office.
