Custom views let you save a custom setup for a report, including your filters, page settings, and table view. Once you save a custom view, you can switch back to it anytime from the top of the report, without rebuilding the same configuration again. This helps you keep a consistent view for quick decision-making, with fewer clicks. Custom views you save are only visible to you and aren’t shared with other users.
This is especially helpful when you regularly check the same data, such as:
- A multi-location manager who needs the Location Summary report filtered to specific locations and compared to last year.
- A manager who routinely checks weekend dinner sales and needs the Sales report filtered to Friday and Saturday, 5 PM to 11 PM.
You can also update, rename, duplicate, reorder, and delete custom views, and set a custom view as your default.
Limitations
- You can only save up to 10 custom views per report.
- Custom views are available only for these supported reports:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales
Save a new view
- Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Go to Reports, then open a supported report:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales
- Adjust the filters, page settings, and table view.

From the Save view drop-down menu, select Save as new view.
- In the Save as new view pop-up, enter a name and description (optional), then click Save.
Your new view is saved as a tab at the top of the report. If you have more than four views (including the Original view), additional views appear under the More drop-down menu.
Update a view
Updating a custom view overwrites its current setup with your new configuration.
- Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Go to Reports, then open a supported report:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales
- Select the view you want to update.
- Adjust the filters, page settings, and table view.
- From the Save view drop-down menu, select Update current view.
Your custom view is updated. Use the same tab at the top of the report to open it anytime.
Rename a view
- Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Go to Reports, then open a supported report:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales

From the More drop-down menu, select Manage views. A panel opens on the right.

Next to the view you want to rename, click the three dots icon (More), then select Rename.
- Enter a name and description (optional), then click Save.
The updated name of the view appears on the tab at the top of the report.
Duplicate a view
- Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Go to Reports, then open a supported report:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales

From the More drop-down menu, select Manage views. A panel opens on the right.

Next to the view you want to rename, click the three dots icon (More), then select Duplicate.
- Enter a name and description (optional), then click Save.
The updated name of the view appears on the tab at the top of the report.
Delete a view
You can delete custom views you no longer need. However, you can’t delete the Original view or the default view (the view that appears first in the tab order).
- Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Go to Reports, then open a supported report:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales

Next to the view you want to rename, click the three dots icon (More), then select Delete.

In the confirmation pop-up, click Delete.
Deleting a view can’t be undone
The tab for the view is removed from the top of the report.
Set a view as default
Setting a default view determines what loads first when you open a report.
- Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Go to Reports, then open a supported report:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales

From the More drop-down menu, select Manage views. A panel opens on the right.
- Next to the view you want to rename, click the three dots icon (More), then select Set as default.
The view is set as your default. It’s pinned at the top of the list in the panel, appears as the first tab at the top of the report, and loads first when you open the report.
Reorder a view
Your custom views are saved as a tab at the top of the report. You can have a maximum of 10 custom views. If you have more than four views (including the Original view), additional views appear under the More drop-down menu. You can reorder views to keep your most-used views at the top.
- Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Go to Reports, then open a supported report:
- Sales summary
- Staff performance
- Location summary
- Sales report
- Hourly sales

From the More drop-down menu, select Manage views. A panel opens on the right.
- Drag and drop notes into the order you want.
Your views are now reordered. The first four appear as tabs at the top of the report, and any additional views appear under the More drop-down menu.
