Setting up the inKind integration

The inKind integration allows customers to access their checks within the inKind app and make payments directly to your location's POS, ensuring a secure and hassle-free dining experience. Using the inKind app, customers can enter their check numbers and pay for their order through their inKind House Account, and close their bill directly in Lightspeed.

To use the inKind integration, you’ll need an inKind account. Visit inKind to get started.

Setting up the inKind integration

  1. Request a demo with inKind.
  2. Register, onboard, and set up your account with the help of the inKind team.
  3. Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
  4. Authorize inKind's request to access the following permissions:
    • Orders-api
    • Items
    • Financials
  5. From the navigation menu, select Configuration > Settings > Payment methods.
  6. Select Add a payment method.Adding inKind as a payment method in Back Office.png
    • Payment method type: Select Other payment method from the drop-down menu.
    • Code: Write INKIND.
    • Name: Write inKind.
    • Enable tips for this method: Check this box to allow tipping for this payment method.
