Understanding the Location Summary

The Location Summary gives a quick graphical overview of sales performance for multi-location businesses. Use this page to quickly view and compare metrics for each location.

Accessing the Location Summary

Accessing the Location Summary can be done from the navigation bar in the Back Office.

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
  2. Click ReportsLocation Summary.

Filtering the Location Summary

Use the filtering options to narrow sales data to your specific parameters. For example, you can view Gross sales from last month, narrowed down to only Tuesday between 12 pm and 3 pm.

Click each dropdown to change these filters.

Time period: The default option is Last 7 days. This can be changed to Today, Yesterday, This week, Last week, This month, Last month, This year, Last 12 months, and Last year. Click the radio button for the time period you wish to view, or choose a custom date range, then click Apply.

Locations: Check or uncheck locations in the list, then click Apply to view information for the chosen locations. Use the search bar to find specific locations.

View options: The default option is Gross sales. Choose an option to view data narrowed down by Net sales, Refunds, Order average, and more.

Day of week: Use this filter to view data from specific days of the week. Check off the box for each day you wish to view and click Apply.

Custom hours: View specific hours throughout your business day. Choose a Start time and an End time, then click Apply.

To compare time periods:

  1. Toggle on Compare data.

  2. Choose a time interval range from the Compared to: dropdown menu and click Apply.

This comparison data depends on the filters you've originally chosen. For example, you can choose 12-3 pm on Tuesdays for the past month, and compare them to 12-3 pm on Tuesdays for the previous month.

Use the Location Summary chart to view your data at a glance. This information will change depending on your filters.

Hover over a bar on the graph to view a summary of the information from that location. If Compare data is toggled on, hovering will also show the comparison data for the filters you've applied.

Understanding the Location Summary breakdown

Use the Location Summary breakdown to quickly view Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly sales for each location. This information will change depending on your filters.

If Compare data is toggled on, you can also view the differential percentage between the compared time periods.

Sort each column by clicking the arrows at the top. Two arrows will organize the data alphabetically by location name. The down arrow will sort your locations from highest sales to lowest, and the up arrow will sort your locations from lowest sales to highest.
