Managing email receipt settings

Customers can keep a digital record of their orders with email receipts. Each email contains a PDF copy of their receipt and allows customers to document their restaurant visits. Email receipts could be sent automatically or manually, depending on your settings.

Setting up email receipts

Set up email receipts in Back Office by customizing the sender name, email subject, and receipt elements. You can also add a logo, custom message, the guest’s name, and more.

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
  2. From the navigation menu, go to Configuration > Printing > Email receipt settings.
  3. From the Email receipt settings page, fill in the appropriate information.
    • Sender: Enter the name of your restaurant.
    • Email subject: Enter a subject line, which appears as the title of the email receipt.
    • Business logo: Toggle on to add an attached image of your restaurant logo.
    • Business name: Toggle on to include your business name.
    • Customer name: Toggle on to include your guest's name, if available.
    • Message: Enter a custom message to add to the receipt.
    • Transaction date: Toggle on to include the date of their restaurant visit.
    • Total amount: Toggle on to include the total amount paid at the restaurant.

  4. Use the Preview to verify that the email looks correct.
  5. Click Save.

Automatically send email receipts to customers

Automatically send email receipts to customers after their order is paid for.

  1. Create a customer profile in the Restaurant POS app or Back Office, making sure to include their email address.
  2. Add the customer to the order and serve them as usual.
  3. Once the order is paid for, the customer will automatically receive an email containing a digital copy of their receipt.

Manually send email receipts to customers

Manually send email receipts to customers directly from the Restaurant POS app after their order is paid for.

  1. Tap Receipts on the navigation bar to access the Receipts screen.
  2. Select the receipt you'd like to email to your customer.
  3. Tap Receipt actions.
  4. Select Email.
  5. Enter an email address to send the receipt to.
  6. Tap OK to send the email receipt.
