The Epson OT-BZ20 buzzer gives an audible alert when a receipt printer receives new tickets. This helps your back-of-house team notice new orders faster during service. The buzzer plugs into the printer’s cash drawer port to receive print alerts. If you connect the buzzer, you can’t also connect a cash drawer because they use the same port.

Compatible printers

The Epson OT-BZ20 buzzer is compatible with:

• Epson TM-T88
• Epson TM-T20
• Epson TM-M30
• Epson TM-M30II-NT

It is not compatible with the Epson TM-U220.

What you'll need

Before you can set up your printer, you’ll need the following hardware:

• Epson OT-BZ20 buzzer
• A receipt printer (compatible and set up)

Enable the buzzer on the printer

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Connect the buzzer to the printer’s cash drawer port.
3. Turn the printer on while holding the FEED button until the printer prints a ticket.
4. Press FEED until a MODE SELECTION ticket prints.
5. Open CUSTOMIZE VALUE SETTINGS:
   • Press FEED 3 times, then press and hold FEED until a new ticket prints.
6. Open BUZZER CONTROL:
   • Press FEED 13 times, then press and hold FEED until a new ticket prints.
7. Select OPTION BUZZER:
   • Press FEED 1 time, then press and hold FEED until a new ticket prints.
8. Select ENABLE:
   • Press FEED 1 time, then press and hold FEED until the final ticket prints, confirming the change.

The buzzer is now enabled on the printer. Turn the printer off, then turn it on again.

Enable the buzzer on the Epson TM-M30II-NT

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Connect the buzzer to the printer’s cash drawer port.
3. Turn the printer on while holding the FEED button until the printer prints a ticket.
4. Press FEED until a MODE SELECTION ticket prints.
5. Open CUSTOMIZE VALUE SETTINGS:
   • Press FEED 3 times, then press and hold FEED until a new ticket prints.
6. Open OTHER SETTINGS:
   • Press FEED 14 times, then press and hold FEED until a new ticket prints.
7. Open BUZZER CONTROL:
   • Press FEED 5 times, then press and hold FEED until a new ticket prints.
8. Select OPTION BUZZER:
   • Press FEED 1 time, then press and hold FEED until a new ticket prints.
9. Select ENABLE:
   • Press FEED 1 time, then press and hold FEED until the confirmation ticket prints.

The buzzer is now enabled on the printer. Turn the printer off, then turn it on again.

FAQ

• Confirm the buzzer is connected to the printer’s cash drawer port and the printer is powered on.
• If the buzzer is connected, you can’t connect a cash drawer to the same printer port. Disconnect the buzzer to reconnect the cash drawer.
