There are two ways to place an order in Lightspeed Restaurant: Table Service or Direct Sale. Table Service includes seating, coursing, and floor plans, while Direct Sale allows for quick counter service.
- Understanding the Register screen: Your Register screen is the core of Restaurant POS. Regardless of your business model, this is where you will place orders, send courses, and accept payment.
- Adding orders in Direct Sale mode: In Direct Sale mode, customers pay for their order immediately, and is best suited for quick counter service.
- Adding orders in Table Service mode: Orders in Table Service mode get assigned to tables, making them more suited for sit down establishments.
- Applying discounts: Discounts can be applied to items, entire orders, or used to create partial refunds.
- Editing and reviewing orders: Revise or review order details, table assignments, or add notes about the order.
- Adding orders for takeaway: Create, track, and manage takeaway orders that are placed in person or over the phone.
- Setting up and using Group Ordering: Group Ordering lets your staff process and prepare orders for groups of customers ordering at the counter.
