In Lightspeed K Series, combos and choices can be understood within the concept of item sequences.
A sequence includes multiple items for a fixed price in Lightspeed Restaurant (K Series). All items that will be used within a sequence must have been created previously in the Back Office. It's useful to sell several items in combination for a lower cost than if the customer was to purchase all items separately. A sequence may encourage customers to purchase more than they originally intended. You can set up two different sequence types. One is to add items directly to sequences (as a fixed combo). The other is to create item groups within sequences and then sort items into these groups where the user can choose from (as combos with choices).
A sequence with a fixed combo might be a daily offer with items that are constant but varied. A fixed combo might include:
Daily offer (sequence):
- Drink (item group): Coke (item)
- Side (item group): Fries (item)
- Main (item group): Burger (item)
A sequence with choices includes a set of grouped items that the customer may choose between. For example, a combo with choices might include:
Daily Offer (sequence):
- Drink (item group):
- Coke, water and/or coffee (items).
- Side (item group):
- Fries, salad and/or coleslaw (items).
- Main (Item group):
- Burger, club sandwich and/or mac and cheese (items).
