About Reports

Lightspeed Restaurant’s reports provide a clear view of your sales, staff, and payments data to help you make smarter business decisions. Different types of reports are available in the Back Office, via your Lightspeed Payments merchant portal, and at the POS itself.

Back Office reports

Most of your Lightspeed Restaurant reporting is accessed through the Back Office. There you’ll find dashboards that summarize your sales performance, insights into business trends, and reports on topics like discounts, staff, and financials.

Dashboards and summaries

  • Sales Summary: The Sales Summary gives a quick, graphical overview of sales performance. From this page, you can compare sales performance between different time periods and easily access additional reports if particular numbers require more information.
  • Location Summary: The Location Summary gives a quick graphical overview of sales performance for multi-location businesses.
  • Sales Report dashboard: The Sales Report dashboard allows you to view and filter sales information by important criteria of the Back Office, such as accounting groups, order profiles, and shifts.
  • Hourly Sales report: The Hourly Sales Report gives a quick, graphical overview of sales performance per hour.
  • Benchmarks and Trends: Benchmarks and Trends compares your sales to nearby businesses within the Lightspeed network that operate similarly to yours.

All other reports

  • Sales Reports: Sales reports provide a detailed breakdown of your sold goods and services, with net and gross data for a specified time period.
  • Fiscal Reports: Fiscal reports are also called financial reports or annual reports. These reports summarize all of the information and data pertaining to your business's financial performance during the fiscal year in question. These reports are important for tax purposes.
  • Location Reports: Location reports contain consolidated data for all of the locations that are linked to your account.
  • Staff Reports: View staff reports for information about employee shifts and sales, such as which employee was responsible for which sales during a specified time period.
  • Discounts and Corrections: These reports contain information about order discounts and cancellations.
  • Order Reports: Access these reports for information regarding orders, such as open and closed orders, printed receipts, draft receipts, and transactions.

Lightspeed Payments reports

Lightspeed Payments reporting shows your credit card payments, payouts, monthly statements, and more. This information, available in your merchant portal, provides a complete view of the payments you’ve accepted and those on their way to your bank account.

POS reports

In the Restaurant POS app, you can access reporting for sales periods, employees, and cash drawers. This provides real-time data right at the point-of-sale that gives managers key information they need to run the business.

Reporting settings

  • Reporting shifts: These allow you to define the various periods used in certain reports, such as breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Reporting automation: You can select up to five Back Office reports to be automatically sent to one or more email recipients on a preset schedule.
