Uber Eats is an online food ordering and delivery platform that uses independent couriers to deliver food orders to customers. This integration allows customers to order from Uber Eats to your Lightspeed restaurant, allowing you to expand your reach and streamline order management.
You will need an Order Anywhere account to access the Uber Eats integration. To sign up for Order Anywhere, get in touch with your account manager or email sales@lightspeedhq.com to purchase an Order Anywhere subscription.
Orders made through Uber Eats will not show in Order Anywhere. To view these orders, open Orders in the Lightspeed Restaurant POS app, or navigate to Reports > Reports > Order Reports in the Back Office.
Setting up Uber Eats
Setting up Uber Eats can be done through your Order Anywhere account by connecting your account with Uber. Before connecting your accounts, make sure that you've set up your Order Anywhere account to your business's specifications.
- Log in to Order Anywhere with your Lightspeed credentials.
- Click Integrations.
- Click Enable Uber Eats.
- In the pop-up window, click Enable Uber Eats.
- Connect to your existing Uber Eats account by clicking Connect existing account, or click Create new account to be taken to the Uber Eats website to create your account.
- If connecting an existing account, you will be taken to the Uber site. Enter your Uber account credentials and you will automatically be brought back to Order Anywhere to continue.
- If creating a new account, follow the instructions on the Uber site. Once your account is created, you will automatically be brought back to Order Anywhere to continue.
- In the pop-up window, click Connect.
- Choose your ordering hours. You can do this manually if your ordering hours differ from regular business hours, or click Reset to business hours to match your ordering hours to your regular business hours.
- Click Continue.
- Use the dropdown menu to choose the menu you wish to use for delivery.
- Use the dropdown menu to choose the order profile you wish to use for delivery.
- (Optional) Enter the approximate preparation time in minutes. This will display to the customer.
- Complete your profile and click Finish when done.
Your settings can be adjusted at any time. To adjust your settings, click on Integrations and then Go to settings under your Uber Eats integration.
Adding promotions to Uber Eats
To sync promotions between Uber Eats and Lightspeed Restaurant, you will need to set up discounts in Back Office and promotions in Uber Eats.
Currently, Lightspeed Restaurant does not support applying multiple dynamic percentage discounts, meaning you cannot apply a discount to both a single item and an entire order. For example, if you applied a 50% discount to fries, then you wouldn’t be able to add another 50% discount to the whole meal, since only one discount can be applied at a time.
Creating the discount in the Back Office ensures that the discount is applied on the POS. Staff can apply this discount manually, but doing so may cause sales reports to be inaccurate. Discounts can only be a percentage, not a set amount.
