Setting up and using Item availability

Item availability lets you manage your menu so customers can only order available items. Snooze items for a limited time so that they’re unavailable for purchase. Snoozed items will automatically become available again after a designated amount of time passes, unless the item is snoozed indefinitely.

Snoozing items is helpful when your restaurant is too busy to accommodate online orders, your kitchen runs out of stock, is waiting for a particular item to finish being prepared, or is waiting for a frozen ingredient to defrost.

Enabling Item availability

Before you begin snoozing items, you’ll need to enable the Item availability in Order Anywhere Back Office.

  1. Log in to the Order Anywhere Back Office.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Settings.
  3. Click the Order settings tab.

Adding the Item availability web extension

Enable Item availability in the Order Anywhere Back Office before proceeding to add the web extension. The Order Anywhere web extension is automatically created when Item availability is enabled.

The Item availability web extension allows you to snooze and unsnooze items directly from the Restaurant POS app.

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your Lightspeed credentials.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Menu management > Menus.
  3. Choose your menu from the list.Back Office 'Menus' section with 'Menu' button highlighted.

  6. Click the checkbox for OA-Availability.

Snoozing items

Snooze items to make them unavailable for online ordering. Items that have been snoozed will appear gray and marked as Currently unavailable on your online menu. After setting up the Item availability web extension, you'll be able to snooze items from both the Order Anywhere Back Office and the Restaurant POS app.

  1. Log in to the Order Anywhere Back Office.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Item availability.
  3. Find the item you want to snooze by scrolling through the list of items or using the Search field to look up an item name or SKU.
  4. In the Available column, toggle off the item you’d like to snooze.Item availability page with item availability toggled on, shown with a checkmark.
  5. Choose the duration for which you’d like to snooze the item. The item will automatically become available again after the selected time period has elapsed, unless the item is snoozed indefinitely.

    Items snoozed indefinitely can only be re-enabled manually.

  6. (Optional) Snooze multiple items at once by selecting the checkboxes beside the item names for all of the items you want to snooze, and then click the snooze duration at the bottom of the screen.Item availability page with an example of a snoozed item, which is snoozed for 59 minutes and its availability is toggled off.

Snoozing items from the Restaurant POS app

  1. Open the Restaurant POS app
  2. Clock in or open a sales period.
  3. Tap Order Anywhere.
  4. Find the item you want to snooze by scrolling through the list of items or using the Search field to look up an item name or SKU.
  5. In the Available column, toggle off the item you’d like to snooze.
  6. Choose the duration for which you’d like to snooze the item. The item will automatically become available again after the selected time period has elapsed, unless the item is snoozed indefinitely.

  7. (Optional) Snooze multiple items at once by selecting the checkboxes beside the item names for all of the items you want to snooze, and then click the snooze duration at the bottom of the screen.

Unsnoozing items

If a snoozed item is ready to be sold again online, you can manually unsnooze it. After setting up the Item availability web extension, you'll be able to unsnooze items from both the Order Anywhere Back Office and the Restaurant POS app.

  1. Log in to the Order Anywhere Back Office.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Item availability.
  3. Click the Snoozed items tab.
  4. Find the items you want to unsnooze by scrolling through the list of items or using the Search field to look up an item by its name or SKU.
  5. In the Available column, toggle on the item you’d like to make available.
  6. (Optional) Click Unsnooze all to make all items available again.

  2. Clock in or open a sales period.
  3. Tap Order Anywhere.
  4. Find the items you want to unsnooze by scrolling through the list of items or using the Search field to look up an item by its name or SKU.
