Item availability

Beta disclaimer: At this time, Item Availability is available in public beta for Lightspeed Restaurant customers. If you want to help test this feature, contact your Sales Account Manager or Lightspeed Support.

Use Order Anywhere's Item availability feature to manage your online menu and ensure that customers can only order items that are currently available. With Item availability, restaurants can snooze items for a limited time and make them unavailable for purchase online. Once an item is snoozed, it will automatically become available again after a designated amount of time has passed unless the item is snoozed "Indefinitely." Restaurants might snooze items if, for example, the kitchen has run out of stock of an item, the restaurant is too busy to accommodate online orders, or the kitchen is waiting for a particular ingredient to finish being prepared.

Enabling Item availability

  1. Log in to the Order Anywhere Back Office.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Settings.
  3. Click the Order settings tab.
  4. In the Item availability section, click Activate.

  5. Click Go to item availability tab to start snoozing items.

Snoozing items

Follow the steps listed below to snooze items and make them unavailable for order online.

  1. Log in to the Order Anywhere Back Office.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Item availability.
  3. Find the item you want to snooze by scrolling through the list of items or using the Search field to look up an item name or SKU.
  4. In the Available column, toggle off  the item.

  5. Choose the duration for which to snooze the item. The item will automatically become available again after the selected time period has elapsed unless snoozed "Indefinitely." Note: Items snoozed Indefinitely can only be re-enabled manually. To learn how to do this, see Unsnoozing items.

  6. (Optional) Snooze multiple items at once by selecting the checkboxes beside the item names for all of the items you want to snooze, and then click the snooze duration at the bottom of the screen.

A snoozed item cannot be purchased online. To see an example of what customers will see when trying to order a snoozed item, visit the Item availability checkout experience section below.

Unsnoozing items

If a snoozed item is ready to be sold online again, you can manually unsnooze it, so you don't have to wait for the time to elapse.

  1. Log in to the Order Anywhere Back Office.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Item availability.
  3. Click the Snoozed items tab.

  4. Find the item(s) you want to unsnooze by scrolling through the list of items or using the Search field to look up an item name or SKU.
  5. Unsnooze items one at a time using the toggle  in the Available column, or reenable all snoozed items at once by clicking Unsnooze all.

Item availability checkout experience

  • Items that have been snoozed will be grayed out and marked "currently unavailable" on your online menu.

  • If you've snoozed a modifier or an optional part of a combo, a customer may still put items containing that modifier in their cart. They will not, however, be able to select the snoozed modifier.

  • If you offer a combo that involves the forced selection of items that have been snoozed, the entire combo will also be snoozed. For example, if your restaurant offers a "Burger and fries" combo that forces the customer to choose between regular and sweet potato fries, snoozing both "regular fries" and "sweet potato fries" will make the entire "Burger and fries" combo unavailable.
