Visit Advanced Insight’s Staff Reports to gather further insight into the performance of your staff members. This report will highlight your top performers, under performers, where your business is losing money, and opportunities to improve efficiency.
There are three reports available under Staff Reports.
- Sales: A summary of staff sales over time.
- Turn time: A summary of your servers' average time spent with your customers.
- Discounts: A summary of the discounts given by your servers.
Accessing the Staff reports
To get started, let's make our way to the Advanced Insights Staff reports.
- Login to Back Office with your Lightspeed Restaurant credentials.
- Navigate to Advanced Insights > Open Advanced Insights.
- In the main navigation sidebar menu, under the Staff header, click Sales or Turn Time or Discounts.
Understanding the Staff sales report
By default, the report displays data for the last 7 days. To choose a different time frame, click the drop-down in the upper-right corner. For full details on filtering your reports, we give a detailed run-down in Filtering Reports.
Server details
Clicking on a server's name in the report will bring up the Staff Scorecard with details about their performance and sales.
- Average sales per cover: Amount of sales in local currency per cover served, averaged over the period.
- Turn time: Time in minutes the cover occupies their place, averaged over the period.
- Tips: Tips collected in local currency per cover served, averaged over the period.
- Discounts: Discounts given in percentage per cover, averaged over the period.
- Voids: Number of voided items per cover, averaged over the period.
Understanding the Turn time report
The Turn time report gives you a summary of how long your servers are spending with each customer, on average. The time measured is how long it takes from ordering to paying the bill. To get started, choose your location and time frame.
By default, the report displays data for the last 7 days. To choose a different time frame, click the drop-down in the upper-right corner.
On the sidebar, you can filter staff by position depending on how you've grouped them in Back Office.
Server Details
Clicking on any staff member brings up their Scorecard, just as it did in the Staff Sales dashboard.

Understanding the Discounts report
The Discounts dashboard shows the discounts given out by your staff. This bar chart displays the discount as a percentage of their total sales for each server over the period selected. This will allow you to track the discounts that are being applied and spot any patterns or outliers. To get started, choose your location and time frame.

Clicking on any staff member brings up their Scorecard, just as it did in the Staff Sales dashboard with the same set of information.
Filtering reports
The reports are generated using the default settings. Those settings can be changed using different filtering settings. Whether it's the time period covered or the type of data being shown, you can use our flexible filters to generate exactly the reports you need.
Filtering by date
After running a report, you can filter your data or compare it for different time periods by using the drop-down menus in the top right. See the Filtering Reports (link when published) page for more details.
Filtering by groups
On the left side of each report, the data can be filtered by position and/or by accounting group to compare sales by each staff member. Each group can be enabled or disabled independently as desired.
