Hi. How can we help?

Setting up the Touch Dynamics Nexus Screen

The Touch Dynamics Nexus Screen is a Lightspeed supported screen for the Kitchen Display System 2.0. Send orders directly from the POS to the display, where you can then mark them as started, ready to collect or place them on pause, simply by tapping the display’s screen. The screen comes with an adjustable stand for easy placement in your restaurant.

What you'll need

To set up your touchscreen, you'll need:

  • the Nexus Screen,
  • the power cable (included in the box)
  • the bottom plate and screws (included in the box), and
  • a Phillips head screwdriver (not included).

Connecting the Nexus screen to your network

You'll need to connect your touchscreen to the network so that it can communicate with your KDS Hub to receive orders, updates, and send changes back to the network.

  1. Connect the circular connector on the power cable to the DC port on the back of the screen next to the power button.
  2. Connect the power cable to a power outlet.
  3. Connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN port on the screen to your router.

The Nexus Screen can connect using Wi-Fi or Ethernet. We strongly recommend using a LAN cable connected to the Ethernet port to connect to your local network. Kitchen equipment will interfere with your Wi-Fi signal.

  4. Power on the touchscreen.
  5. Complete any setup menus. The screen should automatically connect to your local network.
  6. When you’re done, tap the home button to return to the dashboard.

Your touchscreen is now ready to connect to the KDS Hub.

Connecting to your KDS Hub

You'll need to find the IP address of your KDS Hub to connect the touchscreen so they can communicate with each other.

  1. In the Lightspeed POS App on your KDS HUB, go to Settings > Kitchen Display System and take note of the IP Address listed.

  2. In the browser app on your touchscreen, enter the IP address noted in the previous step. In the example above, you'd write:

    10.97.43.20
  3. Press Enter to access the KDS configuration homepage.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the setup of your KDS screen.
