Hi. How can we help?

What's New: June 2026 - Service insights, promotions, task summary emails, and more

From Back Office enhancements to POS updates and more, here’s what’s been added or improved.

Some features take effect automatically, but others require an update. To access everything new, update the Lightspeed Restaurant app via the App Store outside of business hours on all POS devices.

New

Spotlight of the month: Spot service slowdowns faster

Lightspeed Tempo now surfaces key operational insights directly on the dashboard, making it easier to identify underused tables and service delays. New insight cards highlight tables with the most empty time and orders with the longest service gaps, helping managers improve pacing, optimize table turns, and deliver a better guest experience.

No setup or configuration required. These updates will automatically be available in Lightspeed Tempo.

POS and KDS updates

Update

Adjust item prices on the POS

Authorized staff can now override an item's price directly on the POS during an active order. This makes it easier to handle bespoke items, special requests and last-minute pricing adjustments without leaving the POS or interrupting service.

How to set it up

  1. Ensure POS is updated to version 26.18 or higher.
  2. Enable the relevant POS user permission for price adjustment in the Back Office.
  3. During an order, tap an item, select Adjust Price, and enter the new price.

Update

See more tickets at once

Customize your KDS view with new ticket size scaling controls. Adjust ticket sizes up or down directly from Quick Settings to fit more orders on screen, giving kitchen teams a clearer overview of prep queues and improving visibility during busy services.

You must be on KDS 1.51.0 or higher. Settings apply locally to each screen.

How to set it up

  1. Open the Quick Settings menu on the KDS screen.
  2. Use the zoom controls to scale ticket sizes up or down to preference.
  3. Repeat per device as needed.

  2. Create a new checklist or edit an existing one.
