Hi. How can we help?

Setting up Lightspeed Payments

One of the advantages of Lightspeed Payments is that Lightspeed will take care of most of your gateway configurations for you, so you won't have to worry about making sure the lines of communication are open between your Lightspeed account and Lightspeed Payments. Once you have been approved for Lightspeed Payments and Lightspeed Payments has been added to your account, you can adjust your settings to fit your needs.

Customizing Lightspeed Payments

The optional settings for Lightspeed Payments can be edited to enable tips or change how you take signatures. These settings can be changed in your back office.

To enable tipping:

  1. In the back office, navigate to ConfigurationConfigurations.
  2. Click edit next to the device profile associated with Lightspeed Payments.
  3. Under support for tables, check the enable tipping checkbox.
  4. Under "Payment terminal," check the enable tipping on the payment terminal when supported checkbox.
  5. Click save.

Your customers will now be offered the option to add a tip on the terminal when paying for their check.

Note: By default, tipping percentages will be set to 15%, 18%, 20%, and "custom amount." To make changes to this setting, please contact our support team.

To capture signatures directly on the payment terminal:

  1. In the back office, navigate to ConfigurationConfigurations.
  2. Click edit next to the device profile associated with Lightspeed Payments.
  3. Under Payment Terminal check the Capture signature on screen when supported checkbox.
  4. Click save.

Your customers will now be able to sign directly on the payment terminal's screen when paying for their check.

Setting up your hardware

With the gateway activated and your preferences configured, you are now ready to set up your payment terminal
