What's new: July 2024

See what’s new in Lightspeed Restaurant (K-Series) in this batch of updates. From Back Office enhancements to POS updates and more, here’s what’s been added or improved.

Some features take effect automatically, but others require an update. To access everything new, update the Lightspeed Restaurant app via the App Store outside of business hours on all POS devices.

Back Office

Managing your restaurant in the Back Office is now more efficient with updates to items and the item library table.

New

Item duplication

We know that creating and managing items can be laborious and time-consuming, whether you’re first setting up your account or simply adding some new menu items. This should be super easy, especially if you already have an existing item with most of what you need already set up. And now it is. Now you can duplicate items by either clicking on the … next to an item in the item library or clicking on the Duplicate button inside the item. Rename the item and you’re ready to go.

Item library search and filters

You told us our search and filtering options were too clunky, so we changed it. Here’s what we changed:

  • Active and archived items are now in two different tabs
  • The search bar auto-completes as you type
  • You can change your default filters if you want to
  • And you can view all available filters in a handy side panel

Update

More Back Office changes

  • You can now launch the Intercom button from your Back Office login screen so you can reach us immediately to troubleshoot login issues.
  • You can now update your bank info without having to call our support team.
  • Canadian French is now an available language in the Back Office.
  • We gave the Back Office a performance upgrade, so it’s faster than ever.

We’ve improved the POS experience for you and your staff with updates to combos.

Minimum and maximum combo options

Goodbye to choosing between 1 or unlimited items in an item group. Now you can set whatever minimum and maximum number of selections you want.

Our payment processing capabilities are now more seamless and flexible with updates to Tap to Pay and refunds.

Tap to Pay on iPhone available in Canada

Hey Canada, now you can take orders and payments directly on your iPhone with no additional hardware. If you’ve got an iPhone and the Lightspeed Restaurant app, you can take orders and secure contactless payments from a single handheld device. Contact your Account Manager to add this payment method at no extra charge.

Refunds without payment terminal

Need to process a refund without a payment terminal on hand? No problem. Now you can refund a credit or debit card payment in just a few taps on the POS, no terminal required. A new streamlined flow for partial refunds on the POS is coming soon… Please note that refunding without a terminal is currently available to merchants using Lightspeed Payments.

  • Uber Eats integration: With this built-in integration, you can list your menus on the Uber Eats marketplace to reach millions of monthly active platform consumers.
  • Uber Direct integration: List your menus on your own branded website, and get a white-label delivery solution powered by Uber with a flat fee per delivery.

Advanced Inventory: Improved stock counts

Got a lot of stock to count? You’re gonna love our latest updates. Now you can have multiple staff members taking inventory simultaneously. Once complete, they’ll submit a single, reconciled stock count. Counts auto-save to the cloud every 3 seconds, so users can start and stop counting as needed.
